Hi Lee,
Would you see if you can find a reference in this book to the 5th Alabama Battalion on the morning of May 6th, '64 participating in the counterattack against Hancock's Corps? Even though they were, by the time of the battle of the Wilderness, the provost guard for the III Corps, ANV, because of circumstances they were thrown in as a final reserve. I'd like to know if this story exists in the book and what is the source the author uses for this story.
BTW, did you get my email about the 22nd and 82nd Indiana?
Thanks,
Jim Martin
