Gracie's Brigade at Chickamauga

There is a fine book written by Archibald Gracie III about his father's involvement in the Battle at Chickamauga. See "The Truth about Chickamauga" by Archibald Gracie. Your library can get it for you. The O. R. also has a bit about their involvement. My own book "Gracie's Pride- the 43rd Alabama Infantry Volunteers" published by White Mane will be out this fall. The Brigade showed much bravery and honor at Chickamauga. They lost 90 officers and men killed and 608 officers and men wounded, 27 men reported missing. They carried 2127 officers and men into battle on Saturday September 19. Art Green
