Alan J. PittsI must be mistaken....Thu Mar 29 19:37:29 2001 After looking through the microfilm index for W. M. Parker or Willis M. Parker or William M. Parker, I came away with nothing that fits a man with this rank. The was a G. M. Parker (Gideon Maresena Parker) who was a 1st Lt. of Co. "E", 21st Ala. He also served as acting adjutant and was captured at Shiloh. While in prison a new slate of officers was elected and when Parker was exchanged at Vicksburg on Sept. 20, 1862, he didn't have a position. He later served as an enlisted man in Mullany's Co. of the Mobile Fire Battn. Something's not right. Were there dates on the marker?
