I am new at this. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it greatly! I am tracing an ancestor who seems to have disappeared after 1863. I don't have his date of birth, but he was born in Georgia and lived in Henry Co., Ala. His name was Christopher B. Columbus Elliott (don't know what the 'B.' stood for).

I found a C. B. Elliott listed as having been in the 58th Alabama Infantry. Is there any way to determine if Christopher B. Columbus Elliott and C. B. Elliott were the same person? (And, if they were, how can I find out what became of C. B. Elliott?)
