Dear Mike,

In the Broadfoot Roster of Confederate Soldiers for Alabama there are the following listings for names close to Angus Jesse Fowler.

Fowler A. 56th Part.Rangers Co.C
Fowler A.J. 56th Part.Rangers Co.E
Fowler Anguish 15th Bn.Part.Rangers Co.E

These three listings "might" be the same man. The 13th and 15th Battalion Partisan Rangers were two units combined to form the 56th Regiment Partisan Rangers. These were cavalry units. The "Anguish" Fowler is obviously a misspell of Angus. The A.J. Fowler in Co. E of the 56th Partisan Rangers is probably your ancestors name from another roll listing him by initials.
