There are 1,173 Nichols (on both sides of the conflict) names that start with J. and about that many that start with G., but none with the names and initial you included, except the one mentioned earlier, Green Nichols of Kansas. There is a publication by Broadfoot Publishers that is a very good list of soldiers and sailors of the War for Southern Independence, or as they call it the Civil War.
