The descriptive roll (if one exists today) would include his place of birth and age. The company was named for the colonel of the regiment, Edward Courtnay Bullock. He died before the end of 1861; Bullock County is named for him. Here's some information on the company and its captains:


Company “A” of Coffee County “Bullock Guards”

William M. Moxley. Appointed Major February 15, 1862, to rank December 23, 1861.
Boling William Starke. Promoted Captain on March 1, 1862. Wounded and disabled at Shiloh, Tennessee, April 6, 1862. Resigned July 19, 1862, to resume his duties as Probate Judge of Coffee County, Alabama. [DAB4:1615]
Joseph H. Justice. Promoted Captain on May 25, 1862. Returned to previous rank of 1st Lieutenant on July 21, 1862. Promoted Captain [August 23, 1862,] to rank July 19, 1862. Killed at Chickamauga, Georgia, September 19, 1863.
Noah O. Hutchison. Promoted Captain [November 15, 1863,] to rank September 19, 1863. Surrendered at Meridian, Mississippi, May 10, 1865.

Members elected officers at Elba, Alabama, July 4, 1861. Accepted in Confederate service on July 15, 1861, they left for Greenville, Alabama, a week later. The command enrolled at Camp Johnston, Alabama, on August 7, 1861. After the fall of Spanish Fort, survivors merged with those of Companies “E” and “H”.
