Thanks for your help.... strange that he is listed with the 27th also. My information was that he was captured at the Battle of Nashville and was sent to Camp Chase. That would have been before the units were consolidated. (This is information I have from a listing of the members of the 57th I obtained on line). I will have to see about getting his record...

btw.. very interesting history, the 57th (and Clanton's Brigade in general)... do you know how I might obtain the court martial records for Col Amerine? I assume he was implicated in the rather unsavory 'lets all go home' movement.
