Whenever confronted with a deceptively simple method or device which yielded unexpected or uncommon results or rewards, my grandmother used to say, "Why, that's nothing but a Yankee trick." In this case, perhaps we could invoke the language of Forrest and say,"Sargent Sullivan executed nothing more than a typical Yankee twict."
