Thanks for all your help Allen...Here is a little more info on James Guinn Yarbrough. He was born Oct. 7, 1827 in GA and died Apr. 4, 1880 in Bastrop, Texas. He married Mahana Johnson in Tallapoosa Co. AL on Nov. 4, 1848. He and family where living in Montgomery Co., AL on the 1860 Census. On the widow pension there is a two page hand written affidavit and it has two witness's a J.S. Turney and a J.A. Hewatt which state "The widow of the said James G. Yarbrough deceased, that they do know from personnel knowledge that the said James G. Yarbrough deceased enlisted in the service of the Confederacy and preformed the duties of a soldier as claimed by his said widow." These might have been men that where in the unit with him. I don't know how they would have knowledge other than being there. I just don't know. Two of James G. Yarbrough's daughters signed as witness also, Alsey Yarbrough and Mrs. A.D. Gray. It also states they left Alabama in 1872 and moved to Texas. It also states that James G. Yarbrough never applied for pension. This is all I have. Thanks again for your help. I seem to be at a brick wall on this.
Jim
