There are a couple different spelling's that I have seen through out the Yarbrough line. I have seen Yarbrough, Yarbor, Yarbro, Yarburough, Yarbry, Yarbrugh. On the 1850 U.S. Census for Tallapoosa Co., AL has him listed as Yaber, James G. The 1860 U.S. Census for Montgomery Co. AL has him listed as Yarbrough J.L. and the 1870 Census for Bastrop Co., TX has him listed as Yarbrough, James. His whole name is James Ginn Yarbrough. I would imagine that he would most likely be in a unit that mustered in Montgomery County, AL. Going on the info you provided on Col. Julius Mitchell I found he resigned from the 13th AL and joined the 34th also in the 34th was Capt. Thomas Mitchell. So that might be the unit that old J.G. Yarbrough was in. The only Yarbrough I find in the 34th was William Yarbrough which is not James G. Yarbrough. So I am lost and really dont know which way to go here. Thanks for responding to my message and thanks for the help you have provided.
