The reference to Hiram Bush (name also shown as Harrison Bush) in another post is probaly correct. Co. "H" 24th Ala. Inf. regt. organzied in Shelby County, but Coosa is directly east across the river. No other reasonable possibilities for him.

Easier matches are John and R. T. Bush, who enlisted in Co. "B", 8th Ala. Inf. Regt. Called the "Governor's Guard", this command organzied at Wetumpka, Ala. on April 25, 1861 and went to Virginia.

Without looking at the record, I'd suggest that Henry Bush probably served with CO. "D", 6th Ala. Cav. Regt. Most of the men were from Pike County, but men from all over south and central Alabama were used to fill up this command.

Hope this helps.
