Hello. I'm looking for additional information on the 40th Alabama Infantry including photos, stories, and battles fought.

My great great grandfather, John P. Brown (1822-1863) was a member of Co. F from Choctaw County. He died in the hospital in Atlanta, December 15, 1863 and was buried two days later at Oakland Confederate Cemetary. Fortunately, I have a picture of his gravestone and it is well maintained. But I don't know what battles they were involved in in late 1863. I only know he died of "disease" like so many others. The only family story I have is that his wife and youngest two children (he had six) were able to visit him in the hospital before he died.

Any help would be appreciated.
