Hayes Lowe
I think that you may be looking for the wrong regiment.

Either you made a typo, or somebody made a transcription error that you have relied upon. There is only one 36th Alabama that I know of...the 36th Infantry. I searched that site and didn't find any record of a person with the last name "Tubbs".

The name "Rangers" usually signifies a cavalry unit. I strongly suspect that your relative's actual unit was the 56th Alabama Cavalry Regiment, Partisan Rangers. An old style "5" can easily be mis-transcribed as a "3".

You can visit http://www.tarleton.edu/~kjones/alcav.html#56th-Cav
for a brief history of the 56th.

I seem to recall that the following site may have a muster roll for the 56th, but I can't check it right now.
