My GGGrandfather, Adolphus Daniel Rodgers, lived in Marshall County, Alabama prior to the war...and joined an infantry unit from there. I have one clue that suggests the 48th Infantry Regiment may have been his unit. Family legend has it that Adolphous was killed at Richmond, but I have just located a family tree with his death being recorded on May 15, 1863 in Marshall County. Can anyone help with info or suggestions on how I might verify any of this from Houston, TX.
