According to my data base, your information is correct. John Maxwell was corp. in Co. A, 4 Al Inf. The National Archives has him listed at microfilmed 00347. 0028. 00001925 that is Box, Roll and record. Have you checked in Montomery at the Dept. of Archives for his service record and pension request? The National Archies is the next best bet.
