For what its worth Lee County, AL was formed after the CW...Can you guess it was name for!

It was formed from Chambers, Macon, Tallapoosa and Russell Counties. Opelika was in Russell County at the time Lee was formed.

This is the best of my recollection.....have not studied AL history in over 60 years.
