I am tracing my ggrandfather John Bryan Ward Nowlin, have found that he mustered into and was furloughed from the 9th AL Cav and then may have been assigned to the 2nd Battalion AL Cav. He was a surgeon, and apparently his service record name was spelled "Nowlan". Do you have information in your records that can confirm this? Arlene
