Did you ever get a copy of the muster roll for the 9th Alabama Cavalry? My ggrandfather was supposedly a surgeon in the 9th, last name probably spelled Nowlan. I put a query on about a muster roll and have had one response, but it did not tell me if muster rolls are available anywhere. I don't have anything to go on except the family tale that he was "a surgeon in the Civil War" so far. Can you help yet? Arlene
