I hope you can help me find out about my ggrandfather, who supposedly was a surgeon with the 9th Alabama cavalry. His name was John Bryan Ward Nowlin, but may be listed as Nowlan. Any help you could give me in confirming his service and any info on his service record would be greatly appreciated. All I know is the family tale that he "was a surgeon in the Civil War" Looking forward to hearing something from you.. Thanks, Arlene
