Seeing ANY information on Elijah J. Abston. He was a Private in the 38th Alabama Infantry, Company I. He enlisted in 1861, served until his capture at Resaca, Georgia in May of 1864. He was then sent to prison camp in Camp Morton in Indianapolis, Indiana where he spent some time before being released. He supposedly drowned crossing a river on his was back home. Very sad story. Any info would be much appreciated.
