Never understood why this company rolls were filed under Barbiere's Battn. No connection to it. For your purposes, however, Goldsby Local Defense Co. (six-month term) would be of interest because it, too, was from Selma. Goldsby was formerly Lt.Col. of the 4th Ala. Inf. Regt. and Captain of the "Governor's Guard", Co. "A", 4th Ala.
