Rick Bryant
Co. A, 26-50th

My great grandfather, Alfred Bryant, was a private in Co. A of the 26-50th. From what I can tell, he served from the date they were organized until the surrender. I have a copy of a hand written roster made from memory by a member of the company in 1909. A cousin of mine sent it to me several years ago. I believe it is available from the archives in Montgomery. Other than the individual records on microfilm of Alfred and his twin brother Alberry, and the brief accounts of the 26-50th written in the Clement Evans and Willis Brewer books, I have no other information. I too agree that it would be a great benefit to those of us who are descended from these men, as well as CW historians in general, if someone would put together a comprehensive history of this unit.

PS - My copy of the roster is a copy of a copy and therefore might not fax well. However, if you would like me to fax it to you, I will be glad to try. A better copy can probably be gotten from the archives. When I have a little more time, I will try to type it out and post it on this site.
