Thank you for your response. It is very helpful and corroborates the information that I have. The problem for me now is finding the family connection. I have correspondence from Louisiana and Mobile Beers to the Montgomery, Lowndes, Dallas Beers that establishes a relationship, but I haven't found the exact link. The J.S. Beers in Louisiana is the husband of Fannie A. Beers whose book of her memories as a nurse in Confederate hospitals sent me on this quest. J.S. and A.P. both survived the war but A.P. died shortly thereafter from injuries and is buried in Mobile. Again thank you.
