Since you don't have a date on this company, I'd have to guess that it might have been a militia company formed before the war. If Lipscomb fits the profile of a militia captain from that time, I'd expect him to be older than forty and rather wealthy, probably a merchant.The only reference I've seen that may be the man you want is Thomas C. Lipscomb, 2nd Lt. of CO. "F", 8th Conf. Cav., 2nd Lt. Co. "K", 2nd Miss. Inf. Battn, who later became Capt. of Co. "K", 6th Miss. Cav. Regt.Let me know what you find.
