The Battle of Fort Tyler took place in West Point, Troup County, GA (right on the Georgia/Alabama border). It took place 16 April 1865. Brig.General Robert C. Tyler was in command. Gen.Tyler was killed there and is buried in the West Point Confederate Cemetery. A book has been written, COMRADES OF FORT TYLER, C.S.A., by William H David and was published in 1997 by Yates Printing, 731 Lanier Ave, Lanett, AL
