Alan J. PittsCapt. CondreyTue Feb 13 07:48:27 2001 Here is what I have on his company:Company “K” of Marion County, 42nd AlabamaC. F. Condrey. Wounded at Corinth, Mississippi, October [4,] 1862. Resigned May 2, 1863, disabled by his wound and ill health.Accepted in Confederate service at Aberdeen, Mississippi, members held elections on May 13, 1862. Survivors may have surrendered with Company “G”, the consolidated 37th Alabama Infantry Regiment.I say "may have" because I cannot confirm that any members of this company were still with the regiment when it surrendered. Evidently Capt. Condrey was the first and last captain of this company, possibly because there weren't enough men left on roll to justify a promotion.I've heard the name "Bull Mountain Invincibles" used in the last year or two, but haven't seen any wartime documents or statements by veterans to support its authenticity. Someone mentioned that it appeared on a tombstone of an officer, but wasn't sure who or where. Do you know anything specific to support use of this name?Captain Condrey's Company Jim Taylor, Tue Feb 13 18:42
