For instructions on how to obtain CSR's (compiled service records), see this URL:

Take special note of accessing form 80 via email. Since you want the letter, specify that you want copies of ALL papers in the file jacket under your ancestor's name.

I did not see anything else on file to show that he was wounded, but a pension record might provide further clues. ADAH in Montgomery has the originals; microfilm is available in the Southern Collection, Birmingham Public Library. Don't forget the book by George Evans Brewer; evidently your Thomas Lee's father thought highly of him.

The National Archives microfilm collection, titled "Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers who Served in Organizations from the State of Alabama", [microcopy no. M311], is available for viewing and making copies at Wallace State and the Birmingham Public Library, Southern Collection. Staff will assist if you are not familiar with the use of microfilm. You want to ask for reel 420 (46th Alabama Infantry Regiment) and then find the file jacket for your ancestor. These are in alphabetical order.
