Looking through the index, I didn't see either Lewis or William H. Atwell.

Robert Atwell served in Col N. B. Forrest's Tennessee
Cavalry Regiment.

Henry Atwell enlisted in Co. "F", 53rd Alabama Mounted Regiment, which is from soth central Alabama but served around Florence for some time. It's quite possible that Lauderdale boys enlisted while it was in the neighbohood.

An Atwell with no first name on record served in Co. "I", 9th Alabama Infantry Regiment. This is a Lauderdale unit also. I hope this gives you some starting point. I'd think looking under Atwell in the Alabama pension records would be the next place to look; I'd also check the 1907 state census of Confederate veterans.
