If anyone trys it (or knows more about), do report--The U.S. Army, Carlisle, PA., maintains a collection of photographs of Union and CSA soldiers/veterans. They will check their files by name & unit of the soldier for no charge. If they have a photo they will produce an 8X10 B&W glossy for $10.To inquire about a soldier/veteran write:CuratorU.S. Army Military History Institute,Carlisle Barracks, PA 17013Provide soldier/veteran's full name (or as much known) and unit number and/or name (example: Company E, 19th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry, C.S.A.). Be sure to indicate whether Union or C.S.A.If they have a photo they will mail a photocopy of same with instructions for ordering a B&W glossy photo.
