Jan 25/Feb 5th, 1864 Fed.Gen. M L Smith at Larkinsville made a raid toward Rome, GA and recruited a company along the way for the 1st Al Union Cav; Another unit was Capt John B Kennamers "Union Scouts & Guides" who were natives and operated in Jackson Co. AL only.
