Pretty good list.

Robertson's/Dent's Battery appears on Brewer's list of units that included "some" Alabamians. This unit was recruited at Pensacola in December 1861 on a war basis, meaning that members were enrolled for three years or the war. Almost all members had belonged to one of the twelve-month organizations then camped at Pensacola. They were released from their original twelve-month enlistments when they reenlisted "for the war". A review of enlistments show that about sixteen came from Florida companies, a smaller number from Mississippi, and sixty or more from the First Alabama, mostly from its three Barbour County companies. On that basis alone it should be described as an Alabama organization.

Remnants of Capt. Walter O. Crain's Battery from Memphis and Gibson's (?) Battery from New Orleans transferred to this company after Shiloh, bringing its number on roll up to 130 or more. Microfilm for service records of men who belonged to Dent's Battery are filed under organizations raised directly by the Confederate government.
