I'm still waiting for a unit hostory of the 4th AL Cav. from the state archives. To clarify: The Alabama unit that Bond and Mount belonged to (Company A, 4th Battalion, AL Cavalry)was part of something originally called the "Morehead Rangers"? Which source mentions this? If so, I suppose Morehead himself could have recruited these men before he got sick. Do you know where this unit was based before it was sent north? Presumably, Morehead died in a hospital or home in the same town. Capt.
