Lee 3/26/64 with remarks"Ought to be retired".9/30/64 detached duty with Sec. of War. 12/7/64 with Invalid Corps Reserve Forces of AL. 5/3/63 captured at Chancellorsville, VA. 12/7/64 resigned. 7/1/63 wounded at Malvern Hill & left on the field. 10/17/63 Johnsons Island,OH POW. While a POW he wrote Prison Supt to get permission to contact cousin Medora Thayer in Hoosick Falls, NY for clothing. Retired 12/7/64.
