Capt. Moseley
Fri Jan 19 22:31:29 2001

I have service record abstracts on almost all captains and field officers of Alabama commands. This company was first designated "G" until the regiment reorganized at Yorktown on April 27, 1862. On that date Elijah B. Moseley was elected captain, replacing C[hristopher] C[laudius] Pegues, who was elected colonel, and the company redesignated "F". Capt. Moseley was wounded at Malvern Hill, Va., July 1, 1862; captured at CHancellorsville, Va., May 3, 1863; exchanged at Washington, D. C., May 18, 1863; wounded and disabled at Gettysburg, Pa., July 1, 1863; assigned to the provost guard at Gordonsville, Va., Mar. 26, 1864; retired to the Invalid Corps, December 7, 1864. A good and honorable record, I might add.
