I don't think that it rules out the eBay flag as an original flag. It does rule it out as being the one in use after Vicksburg. However, my original theory was that the eBay flag was issued *and* captured at Vicksburg, which explains its relatively "as new" condition. It therefore would not have been the flag that had the blood on it.
