A flag displayed there purports to be that of the 12th Louisiana. A historian of that regiment, R. Hugh Simmons, believes it belonged to an Alabama regiment in Scott's Brigade. It was captured at Peachtree Creek 7-20-64 in a part of the field he thinks more likely to have been traveled by the Alabamians. In an exchange of notes last summer, he suggested that it may be that of the 57th Ala.
