Pauline Mitchell PierceCo. B, 55th. Ala. Infantry Battles?Thu Sep 14 16:14:59 2000 I know very lettle about my g.g.granfather Wiley Trammell's service. Only what is contained in his Texas Confederate Pension application which was approved. I have the last envelope he received with Confederate pension stamped on the outside. I did not receive anything from the Alabama archives on his service. In the pension application the Dr. who examined him stated that he had suffered from a wound in the right hip. He stated that he served for 2 years, named no battles, in short very little information. These very early applications did not ask many questions, as did the later ones. The Texas Indigent Soldier act was dated 12 May 1899 and he applied on the 22 July 1899.Does anyone have a record of the service of the 55th.
