James Porter and Robert P Doss -Marshall Co,AL Civil War Sol

I am looking for any info on these two men who served in the Civil War. James P Doss was listed as a Lt. in the 55th Al Co E Volunteers. Can anyone tell me anything about this?His father was Richard H Doss of Marshall Co,AL. Thanks SD
