Thanks for the response. Col. James McLaughlin's middle name was Madison not Morgan. Morgan was his cousin. Morgan married a Harris and is buried in Harris Cemetery down 119. He got a little finger shot off during the war. The Col.'s obituary with a photograph from the Confederate Veteran magazine is on line at 18th Ala. photo site. James Mitchell McLaughlin was my great great grandfather. My grandfather was Joe C. and my father was Lynn Stanley (known as Dingy around Leeds). Morgan and John C. (Pvt.s in the 18th)were brothers to James Mitchell. Col. J.M. and 2nd Lt. Hezikiah Balch Mclaughlin were brothers (1st cousins to my group).
