After reading my material again, I see that I am in error. The correct term should be paroled, not pardon. The 24th Miss Cav. was paroled at Gainsville, Ala. My understanding is that pardons were done in the state the vets set up residence. That could be why I got a negative answer from Miss. Archives. Does your answer still stand? Thank you.
