For the time frame you are researching the 41st
Alabama was on guard duty at Hieassee Bridge at
Charleston, Tennessee. There is several references
in Reports in the O.R's for August of 1862 which
state the 41st and 3 companies of the 41st are
on Guard Duty Hiwassee Bridge, Charleston. They
remained at Charleston until September when they
were ordered to Knoxville by Rail. I can find no
mention of a battle but guard duty to me would
imply danger.
