B. J. Key's records show that he enlisted at Loachapoka, Ala., May 14, 1862. As the lights were being turned off in the library, I gleaned as much as possible from the microfilm in twenty seconds. His name appears on each company roll as "present" until the surrender at Appomattox; only three or four clothing receipts aside from muster roll cards. I believe one gave his place of enlistment as Wedowee. Obviously a good soldier, but there's no indication that he had the misfortune of spending time in any Federal prisoner of war camp.
