Thanks for the reply. My information came from family history and from research done by the Perry County search committee who prepared the documentation for the book "The Heritage of Perry Co., AL". I did find on one of the civil war websites where there was a battle in or around Chattanooga in June or July of 1862 and I'm beginning to think maybe he was wounded at that time and died from his wounds on 22 Aug 1862. His widow, Justine Rhinehart Tucker, received $11.06 from Capt. A.b.S. Moseley which represented his last pay. He was a private in Co. E, 41st Regiment of the Alabama Infantry.
