According to family legend my great grandfather served as a private in Company E, 8th Cavalry, Alabama Volunteers. I would like to find his name on a muster roll and find out what happened to him as he never returned at the end of the war. Any suggestions on where to find a muster roll or history of Company E, 8th Cavalry? Any help would be greatly appreciated since our family has been trying to find what happened to him for over 100 years. Thank You,Jan
