Well, I was in the Library at the Chickamauga Visitors Center earlier and a friend of mine told me that I should see these really cool images of two confederates that our Historian had just received. I looked at the images of two men wearing the same style uniform and then I noticed the name, Durrett, and then I noticed the unit, 50th ALA. I was stunned. James Durrett was wounded in the left shoulder and jaw at Chickamauga,(His lower jaw was removed) but lived to be discharged. He is buried in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Cottondale, Tuscaloosa, ALA. John Durrett died October 11th, 1863 in the Institute Hospital in Atlanta, GA from his wounds.
