On the weekend after I posted my question, before I received and read your answer, I was a guest at the Marriot Grand Hotel at Point Clear, and learned that at one time a hotel there housed a hospital and that soldiers who died there are buried nearby. At some point during our travels I saw a sign that said "Confederate Rest".. is this the cemetery you were speaking of? Could it have been the hospital where William died?
