8th Alabama Cavalry (Livingston's)

Does anyone know of the existance of a roster of those soldier's who served with the 8th (Livingston's) Alabama Cavalry. In the Archives in Montgomery, I found an index card stating my 2nd great-grandfather, James Oliver Long, served in Company "A" of the 8th (Livingston's) Alabama Cavalry. There was no additional information available. I requested information from the National Archives on his service, but was told they had nothing.

A record exists where his oldest son, Henry Dixon Long, applied for a Confederate Pension for service in the same unit, but that request was denied due to the lack of supporting documents.

I understand that the unit was form at Autaugaville. Anyone with information on this matter, please email me.
