I know that your Mosely men were listed as members of the "Grove Hill Guards" which was originally Co. A, 5th AL Infantry. The list of Co. A can be found in the book, "Clarke County and its Surroundings" by T. H. Ball on page 279. I think that old Co. A, 5th AL Infantry became new Co. I, 5th AL Infantry some time after 1862. I have service records from NARA for F. M. Woodard which show him in both Co. A and Co. I of the 5th AL Infantry. A receipt roll for clothing dated Jan 19, 1863 shows Co. I and is the earliest mention in his service records of Co. I. Prior paperwork shows old Co. A, 5th AL.
