Dear Mr Jones: I have a problem that I hope you can help me with. I am trying to trace my mother's ancestry and I am trying to locate my great-great grandfather whom I believe was a Civil War veteran from Lawrence County, Alabama. I do not know what regiment or company he was in or anything. The only thing that I know for certain about him is his last name. It was Willingham. I believe his first name might have been Will or William but I am not sure. I would really appreciate it if you would please kindly email or mail to me via the United States Postal Service whatever information that you have on all the Civil War veterans from Lawrence county with the name of Willingham.
